Next Jen Events Grand Opening celebration will take place in the Wine Cellar Room of the Westlake Village Inn. Set amongst a backdrop of a gorgeous lake, with wine barrels placed throughout the room, the Wine Cellar Room is the perfect place to host an evening of mystery.

 

Taking my mission statement to heart, I am definitely thinking outside the box with this grand opening theme. Newly engaged couples will be called upon to join me and local vendors, as we help them take the "mystery" out of wedding planning. Eye catching flyers will be placed at various locations throughout the city, including, restaurants, bridal salons, jewelry stores, and floral shops. Select vendors will receive mailed or emailed invitations that will set the tone of the evening and help them tailor their presentations to the theme of the evening. Local radio station, KCSN, will broadcast a 30-second spot advertising the event. The radio station plays in the new outdoor shopping mall, The Village, to reach an even broader market. 

 

Guest will arrive to see the indoor/outdoor space decorated in stark black and white stripes with a soft blush pink to soften the contrast. Black chandeliers and candelabras on the tables will set the mood of the evening. White hydrangeas with roses and carnations in pink will adorn the centerpieces. As guests arrive, they will each be given a manila envelope with instructions on how the murder mystery game will proceed later in the evening. The envelope will contain each guests' character and their role in the mystery. Guests will also be welcomed to the event with a drink station containing wine from the Westlake Village Inn's own winery, and champagne.

 

Vendors will be set up at various tables along the edges of the room where couples can mingle and speak with them directly to ask them any questions they may have. During cocktail hour, guests will also be invited to indulge in the delicious display of appetizers, also courtesy of the Inn. Canapés and a cheese display of imported and domestic cheeses will pair perfectly with the wine and champagne.

 

After the meet and mingle I'll begin my short seminar on tips and tricks for planning a wedding that is stress free (and also emphasize why it's important to hire a planner). Next, the real fun begins! The Murder Mystery Co. will begin their part by staging a murder and helping the guests to figure out who-dun-it. It'll be a night to die for!

 

Admission will be free, but guests will be asked to bring in any unwanted jackets or blankets to help those in need and will benefit the New Friends Homeless Center. Every item brought in earns the couple a raffle ticket, so the more they bring, the greater the chances of them winning the Grand Prize of a romantic wine getaway weekend courtesy of the Westlake Village Inn. The New Friends Homeless Center helps to supply the growing population of homeless families in the San Fernando Valley the basic needs of life. Food, shelter, and clothing.
